Trip to Sensoji Temple in Akasuka

After a full day of speakers, all 200 of us boarded buses at 4:00 PM to go to Sensoji Temple in Akakusa. Legend has it that in the year 626, two brothers found a statue of Kannon (the goddess of mercy) in the river and fished it out. They eventually returned it to the river, but she kept returning. So in 645, they built a temple to her and it is Tokyo's oldest temple. On the way in, I saw this group of girls, I asked if I could take their picture, they all smiled, grouped together and said "Peace". Just before I snapped the picture, a little boy ran from the side, jumped in front and yelled, "Peace!". It reminded me so much of Will in my homeroom, every time we have visitors! Notice their clothes.
